Fall Festivities

There is nothing like being amongst the crowd at a Football game in the fall. To walk outside and enjoy the crisp air, to be a tad bit chilly before warming in up in the sun while shouting for your favorite team, is the purest passage way from summer to winter. I love seeing the sea of Wolfpack Red and tailgating at NCSU games. Those State fans know how to pre-game! There is never a shortage of friends and the Bojangles makes the day complete, that is before we all head out for half-time and debate whether or not to go back inside for the second half or sit in the parking lot and cheers with our beers while listening to the radio. Then there is my ultimate favorite, surrounding myself with Tarheel Blue to make the Tarheel blue skies. I am a UNC fan from the start, which keeps me in the stands until the end of the game. But, I must say that sitting in front of the Library while eating some of the best Eastern BBQ and corn sticks in the middle of “Tarheel Town” right before we see the players make their march for the Old Well Walk is the perfect start to the day. GO STATE AND GO HEELS! That’s not the norm, but to love ACC football in the fall most certainly is!

Remembering 9/11/01

Lets all take a moment to remember the lives lost in New York, DC, and PA during the attacks on the United States 7 years ago today. Out of the tragedy we can find strength and hope in the heroes and courageous souls that fought to save lives while risking their own. We can unite with the courage and pride that the men and women of this country fought for the day the towers came down. Together we should stand up to solute the brave soldiers that continue to fight for our freedom and those who lost their lives in the battle to protect our life as we know it. I thank those brave men and women for our freedom and for our daily smiles. As one we shall always stand strong and be united, together we can conquer all evil.

with love and trust
anything is possible....

Thank You

Sometimes we need to stop and smell the roses or in simple terms, be thankful. I was in NYC and stopped in a beautiful Church near the World Trade Center. My Mom, Dad, Sister and I walked in to soak in the beauty of the Church and marvel at the architecture. After a moment I stepped away from everyone and walked down the aisle and sat in a pew alone. I started to say a quick prayer. After I walked back to my family my Mom asked me “what did you pray for”. That simple question had me thinking for a moment. Yes, I prayed for something in particular. Strength, which I ask for almost every time I pray, but I told my Mom how I didn’t pray just for strength, but I prayed and gave thanks to my many blessings. I am sure many of us may regularly pray or ask for something in particular, but lately I have changed the way I pray a bit. Yes, I do pray for something and maybe I am even very specific, but I also try to make a point to say thank you. Two simply words, but not nearly used enough. All of us ask for something from friends, from family, even strangers, and God, but as often as we are asking or praying for something are we thanking those for blessing us for what we ask for and even for the things we didn’t ask for but received. Sitting in that pew I graciously thanked God for all the blessings I have in my life and I realized that giving my many thanks should be carried out more often and with everyone and everything. Sometimes we don’t need to ask for something we just need to say thank you for everything.

Graciously,
Me

Where To Begin.....

It’s hard to determine where to begin when starting a “BLOG”. I have contemplated in my mind…Do I start with what is most important to me? Do I go into detail of where it is I came from so you can understand where I am or where I might be going? Do I talk about the great love of my life or the loves lost? Do I go on about the trials and tribulations or the joys and happiness? After some thought, I think I have an answer for myself. I am going to start with a picture, which I’ve always heard “A Picture Speaks A Thousand Words” and this speak volumes to me. They capture memories so perfectly, not of just that exact moment, but they capture the memory and emotions surrounding the bigger picture.
